this is a big question ! and the answer depends on which americans you are wondering about; not everyone would say they watch football or drink alcohol for fun! some generalizations - sports is very popular, either participating in it or watching, going to games, watching on tv. a lot of people do some kind of physical activity for fun (and for exercise), they "work out" or take a class. and people with kids have activities they do with their kids for fun (travel) or things without them (go out to dinner and see a movie) what college kids do for fun is different again... ask other students what they do - and add your comments.
